Immerse yourself in extraordinary Sturbridge
C-MASS GEOFEST 2017 activities ramp up Wednesday, August 16 and continue through Sunday, August 20. Geocachers, family members and friends of all ages are welcome. Come discover or further explore the rich historical and natural treasures, superior array of dining, retail and cultural gems that make Sturbridge and the surrounding Townships sparkle. In our third year, we're planning another leap forward for turnout and activities!
Wednesday, August 16
Kickoff Event: C-MASS Bowl & Putt-Putt,
Family style fun, with or without your family! Wrap your fingers and your head around candlepin bowling — a special treat for unfamiliar folks from outside New England. Or pick up a putter for mini-golf. Or train those geocaching eyeballs with some video games. Rain or shine, this is one of several places to meet with your fellow cachers and let loose.
TV Trivia at Teddy G's / GEOFEST Welcome Bash, 8-10 p.m.
Belt it out or swallow it down at Teddy G's, an informal family venue that can't wait to discover your hidden or all-too-obvious talents and appetite for imaginative pub fare. More activities below.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 17
A Barbecue to Live For, 3-5 p.m.
This nationally recognized barbecue place received a lip-smacking ovation in its debut as a GEOFEST event last year. They're ready to fill us fulla' barbecue once again.
'Paint & Sip', 8:30-10 p.m. New Event!
Plaster crafting fun for the whole family! Select from a huge array of plaster art ready for you to paint a masterpiece! Items range from $5-60 each and include animals, containers, holiday and religious themes and more. While painting, you will have the chance to catch up with other geocachers attending C-MASS GEOFEST, and enjoy an age appropriate beverage.
Friday, AUGUST 18
Dieciocho de Agosta Fiesta (Dinner at Mexicali), 5-7 p.m. New Event!
Arriba, dudes! Mexican fare north of the Sturbridge border in Spencer, Mass.
Marshmallow Roast & Intro to Night Caching (with preregistration), 7:30 p.m.
Green Acres, 66 Palmer Road (Route 20), Brimfield, Mass. Map it!
Bring portable chairs or blankets for seating, swap caching stories and BYO snacks or musical instruments. A large tent is available in case of rain.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 19
The Sturbridge Trail Committee welcomes us back for another service project on newly acquired property located at 277 New Boston Rd. Our help will include spreading small piles of gravel to improve trail surface, some brush cutting and paint marking of the trails.

We'll gather 9 a.m. for 9:30 departure. Rentals - reserve in advance, or BYO for an approximately 2-mile paddle, retrieving caches along the way.
